About the Band

The Boyish Charms were birthed in California—specifically Rancho Bernardo via Bonita—in August, 1996 by Cam Jones and Robbie Lawson. Inspired by albums like The Freed Man, Grandpaw Would, There’s Nothing Wrong with Love, Crumble, Violent Femmes, Hi How Are You, and Sometimes, What’s the Difference? and labels like Shrimper, Chapter Music, and Sing, Eunuchs!, they started with cassette-only releases, before graduating to compact discs, vinyl, and now intangible streaming.
